I understand my work, both live action and animated, as a collection of ludicrous anti-fables. Encompassed in a blend of bleak cynicism, charm and arrogance, the viewing experience takes place on two, often fluctuating levels. One can allow themselves to get emotionally involved with the piece or understand the circumstances for their face value absurdity. Accompanying cut paper animation, markers and crayons with wry, grim texts, I try to look at the pain and ugliness of everyday heartbreak without flinching. These heavily stylized narratives deal with ordinary people drudging through their own miserable melodramas.
